…but for the wrong reasons.

  1. I was hoping his big blue conservative tie was going to throttle him but alas….

Presumably all about protecting the Howard legacy for Minchin’s benefit. The problem when one wold be king…

  2. hey there B. yep, kind of wishing they would just take the hint (24.11.07) and fruck off for the next 5 years. Amazing that anybody would want to take such a monumental moment and use it to prove their ignorance, irrelevance, and entrenched support for Manifest Destiny. what a dick, but also what a representative slice of the COALition’s mindset. Grrr.
Thank buddha that Kevin hit it out of the park. Detail on compensation would have been nice but i think that will eventually follow. Australia has become so uptight over the last decade, it’s really quite massive for things to have progressed so far already. Apparently in Queensland, they have been addressing the issue by adding $1 to annual car rego fees. There are real and do-able solutions, and I hope it’s just a matter of time until we see more implemented. But what a day!!

  3. […] Hugh from Typingisnotactivism says it well. […]

  4. Foot in mouth in so many places but that comment about both Europeans and Aboriginals seeking to conquer the land was a classic. Even school children know that Aborigines lived in harmony with the land, and did not need to triumph over it.
